Record Medicare bulk billing rate a win for patients in Wide Bay

More Wide Bay patients are seeing their doctor without paying a cent, with the bulk-billing rate increasing to a record 86.4 per cent in the first half of the 2017–18 financial year.

In Wide Bay, that means 442,875 doctor appointments were bulk-billed, Federal Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien said.

Regional Queensland to benefit from Land 400 Project

Hundreds of new jobs will be created in Queensland with the Coalition Government’s announcement of Rheinmetall as the selected supplier for the Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle project worth over $5 billion in acquisition.

Bruce Highway Section C delivers upgrade south of Gympie

• Upgrade delivers 10.5 kilometres of four-lane highway between Traveston and Woondum
• Milestone follows opening to traffic in November 2017 and arrives well ahead of schedule
• Project part of the 10-year Bruce Highway Upgrade Program

WORK is now complete on the Bruce Highway – Cooroy to Curra Section C upgrade, bringing the $384.2 million project to an end well ahead of schedule.

Grants open to celebrate 2018 NAIDOC Week in Wide Bay

• Coalition Government investing $1.4 million for local communities to celebrate 2018 NAIDOC Week.
• NAIDOC Week celebrations will run from 8 – 15 July 2018, guided by the theme ‘Because of her, we can!’ to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.
• Grant applications open until 3 April 2018.
