New opportunities for Noosa small business
A new regional capacity-building framework and digital tool were launched today in a bid to support economic growth in the Noosa Council area.

Federal Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien said the project will help local businesses and entrepreneurs bring business ideas to fruition in Noosa communities.

“The project will include a regional project pitch event where local businesses and entrepreneurs will have access to business incubators, helping local start-ups by providing training and other services,” Mr O’Brien said.

“Building capacity for business and start-up innovation in Noosa will diversify the region’s economy and grow potential for new investment.”

“Noosa is leading the way with innovation and I’m pleased that again the Coalition Government is partnering with the Noosa Council to support new and emerging commercial opportunities, creating jobs and investment.

“The Coalition Government is also contributing $2.55 million through our Building Better Regions Fund towards Noosa Council’s Digital Hub at Peregian Beach, which is becoming a focal point of entrepreneurial activity, innovation and education.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack said small businesses, local entrepreneurs, residents with an innovative project idea and some organisations looking to start or accelerate a new initiative are all set to benefit.

“This event will enhance economic growth, social cohesion, and environmental sustainability by supporting regional strategic capability and accelerate development of local projects and solutions,” Mr McCormack said.

“The framework is initially tailored to the Noosa region but may expand to other areas in the future.”

The project is jointly funded with the Federal Liberal and Nationals’ Government investing $19,500.
