New Noosaville Post Office officially opens

Australia Post and Federal Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien today officially opened a new state-of-the-art Post Office in Noosaville.

Following an investment of close to $500,000, the new Post Office is designed to make it easier and more convenient for customers to access postal services in a modern environment.

“I am proud to open the new Noosaville Post Office, and pleased to see the people of Noosaville will continue to receive these much-needed services from this new address, which provides easier access for all users and a fresh new look for the store,” Mr O’Brien said.

“I am committed to ensuring the people of Wide Bay have easy access to essential services such as Australia Post, and the new address at the Civic Centre will make it more convenient than ever before for Noosa residents to visit the store.

“Whether they are in a beautiful old heritage-listed building or in new premises like this one, Australia’s post offices have been the hubs of their communities for more than 150 years and remain so today.”

Australia Post State Manager, Pauline Davis, said the new store demonstrated Australia Post’s commitment to the Noosa community, offering local residents and businesses an innovative range of eCommerce and trusted services, such as passport and tax file number applications.

“Online shopping in Australia continues to grow so the introduction of a new Post Office in Noosaville provides shoppers with access to postal services six days a week in a new, modern environment,” Ms Davis said.

“We know online shopping is very popular in Noosa, growing at almost 16 per cent year on year. Popular categories for locals include health and beauty items such as cosmetics, supplements and vitamins, up 43 per cent, as well as variety stores, also up by 43 per cent.”

“Our customers’ needs have changed substantially over time and our new Noosaville Post Office is another great example of how we’re changing to meet those needs, investing in the community, and demonstrating our commitment to regional Queensland.”

The new store features an extensive range of eCommerce and trusted services, including free 24/7 parcel lockers for PO Box holders to make it even easier for customers to pick up parcels at a time that suits them.

Other features of the new Post Office include:

  • Out of hours parcel collection from the parcel hatch – 6.00am-9.00am Monday to Friday
  • Financial services including bill payment and banking
  • Identity services including tax file number applications and passport services
  • Travel services including foreign currency exchange and travel cards, travel insurance and travel merchandise.
