nbn construction to start to connect Noosa communities sooner
Federal Member for Wide Bay, Llew O’Brien today said construction of the nbn will start in Noosa communities before the end of the year, ahead of the rollout schedule.
“The Liberal Nationals Government prioritized the rollout of the nbn to underserviced areas and I’m pleased that construction will soon begin to deliver the nbn to approximately 23,300 premises across Noosa,” Mr O’Brien said.
“Residents in Castaways Beach, Cooroibah, Doonan, Noosa Heads, Noosaville, Sunrise Beach, Sunshine Beach, Tewantin, Tinbeerwah, and Verrierdale should soon see nbn contractors beginning construction over the next few weeks.
“This work is ahead of schedule and the community will notice contractors boring and digging trenches, installing new pits and cabinets, as well as hauling, splicing and testing fibre cables.
“This is welcome news for local residents and businesses as Noosa communities move closer to being able to connect to the nbn and access fast broadband services.”
Access to fast broadband will provide a range of benefits to homes and businesses, including improved opportunities to work from home, better access to online education and health services, and more options for on-demand entertainment.
Families will be able to be connect to the nbn at the same time, using multiple devices and all enjoying the same fast speeds.
For business, e-commerce, sending and receiving files, accessing online services, internet and data security, cloud based sharing, or communicating with staff and customers, will be faster and more efficient with the nbn network.
The nbn network will become critical for health, education, business development and the overall long-term sustainable growth of the region.
