Coalition supports St Vincent de Paul Gympie refurbishment
Federal Member for Wide Bay, Llew O’Brien today said a Coalition Government investment of $14,364 has helped to refurbish Gympie’s St Vincent de Paul shop.
“The recent renovations including the replacement of the shop counter and the lowering of shop fixtures to create a more accessible and welcoming space for volunteers to work and people to shop,” Mr O’Brien said.
“Gympie’s St Vincent de Paul store provides a valuable community service, raising funds to support its work to help the disadvantaged in the community. People donate clothing, furniture and household items and they are sold at the store and the funds are used to deliver support services in the region.
“It was a pleasure to join with representatives from St Vincent de Paul to open their renovated store. The volunteers are the backbone of the organization, contributing to the work of the Society, enabling it to assist people in our community in need,” Mr O’Brien said.
“I welcome this investment in our community and thank St Vincent de Paul for the good work they do.”
