Coalition powers Gympie’s Woodworks Museum and Interpretive Centre expansion

The Federal Coalition Government has invested $10,725 in Gympie’s Woodworks Museum and Interpretive Centre to supply power to its new workshop and storage shed, Federal Member for Wide Bay, Llew O’Brien, said today.

Mr O’Brien recently visited the Museum to inspect the completed facility, which will become the centre of activity for the Woodwork’s volunteers who restore artefacts donated to the Museum.

“The workshop was constructed using donated and recycled materials and provides storage for more than 4,000 historical items.  Some of these artefacts require restoration and others will be exhibited,” Mr O’Brien said.

“The new workshop will attract more volunteers and enable more artefacts to be restored, thereby increasing the number of items on display and broadening the range of revolving exhibits.

“I congratulate the Woodworks Museum and Interpretive Centre on the success of their project, which was funded through the Coalition’s Stronger Communities Programme.”
