$20,000 grant to boost Murgon Town Hall amenities

A $20,000 grant from Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien will kit out Murgon Town Hall with new furniture including a mobile audio-visual projector and screen.

“From movie screenings for community events and fundraisers, to business presentations and educational forums, this AV equipment is a valuable addition to the amenities at Murgon Town Hall,” Mr O’Brien said.

“The Town Hall is an essential community facility for not just Murgon but throughout the South Burnett, and this equipment and furniture will make it even more useful to community groups, local organisations, schools and businesses throughout the region.”

The funding will be delivered by the Department of Infrastructure, Regional Development and Cities.

“The Liberal and Nationals Government is committed to supporting local communities to prosper and grow, and local infrastructure projects like this are critical if we want to boost economic growth and improve local amenities and facilities,” Mr O’Brien said.

In the 2018-19 Budget, the Liberal and Nationals Government committed to funding more than 100 new regional programs that create jobs, support economic growth and improve access to essential health, education and communications services.
