Wide Bay’s schools encouraged to take action against bullying

Llew O’Brien, Federal Member for Wide Bay, is encouraging teachers and school leaders throughout the electorate to take action against bullying.

Mr O’Brien said registrations are now open for schools to sign up to the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence which takes place on Friday 15 March 2019.

“The National Day of Action is a national movement against bullying and cyberbullying, and registered schools in Wide Bay will receive new anti-bullying materials and teaching resources,” Mr O’Brien said.

“Parents want to know that students, teachers and school leaders in Wide Bay have the best tools to deal with bullying and cyberbullying.

“The Liberal Nationals Government is focused on keeping our kids safe, which means providing support and resources to stop bullying as well as educating everyone about the devastating impact it can have on individuals, their families and whole communities.

“I hope every school in Wide Bay joins in this event to take a stand against bullying.

“Teachers, students and school communities can all take action against bullying by encouraging their school to register to become a National Day of Action school.”
