Security and safety for Tin Can Bay Fishing Club

The Tin Can Bay Fishing Club will enjoy better security and safety at their premises after a successful submission to Round 4 of the Stronger Communities Programme, Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien announced today.

“The Fishing Club will use the funding to purchase and install security cameras to protect the building and assets,” Mr O’Brien said.

“The Club is an active hub for the community, supporting other volunteer organisations and the installation of this equipment will improve safety and security at the site.

“The members of the Tin Can Bay Fishing Club are to be congratulated on the success of their application,” Mr O’Brien said.

The Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Programme is designed to improve the resilience of communities by providing capital grants for small projects of between $5000 and $20,000. Up to $150,000 is available in each electorate per year.
