FUNDING COMMITMENT TO COMPLETE NOOSA COMMUNITY HUB
An elected Liberal National Government will support the Noosa community by committing funding to improve vehicle and pedestrian access to the Hub at Noosa Church.
Federal Member for Wide Bay, Llew O’Brien, announced the $200,000 commitment which will deliver safe and accessible entry to the community services arm of the Noosa Church known as the Hub.
“The rising cost of living is having a huge impact on local families with around 1,000 people each week accessing services at the Hub, which includes free and low-cost food and clothing sourced from local growers, bakeries, supermarkets, and bulk suppliers,” Mr O’Brien said.
“This funding will be used to lay asphalt on the driveway and car parking areas to make it easier and safer for people to come and go from the Hub. This includes around 100 volunteers, who provide a range of services to support people in need in the local community.”
Josh Usher from the Noosa Church, said “Noosa Church invested $450,000 to upgrade the Hub facility with more floor space and better storage and work areas to provide improved support for our community services. The driveway and car park component is vital to finishing work that’s needed to create a safe and welcoming entry for those in need.”
Federal Member for Petrie, Shadow Assistant Treasurer and Shadow Minister for Financial Services Luke Howarth toured the new Hub and was impressed with the work Noosa Church is doing for the local community.
“Australians are experiencing the biggest fall in living standards under the Albanese Government and many are struggling to feed their families. The Noosa Church and the Hub’s volunteers are doing important work supporting vulnerable people and making sure they can put food on the table,” Mr Howarth said.
