Coalition Government support for St Vincent de Paul, Maryborough
Federal Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien, and Minister for Regional Development Fiona Nash, today visited St Vincent de Paul’s Maryborough Centre of Charity, which received $5,350 from the Liberal Nationals Government towards the replacement of its kitchen.
“The funding has assisted with the upgrade of the kitchen at its Kent Street store, which included the purchase of a new refrigerator, stove, urn and microwave, as well as new paint work, floor coverings, door and window screens,” Mr O’Brien said.
“The project provides volunteers with a more comfortable environment, meets workplace health and safety standards, and demonstrates the importance of volunteers to the organization and our community.
“It’s great that the Coalition Government can assist St Vincent de Paul to support its volunteers who are the backbone of the organization.
“The Maryborough Centre of Charity does wonderful work raising funds from the sale of donated clothing, furniture and household items to support its activities in the community.
“I congratulate the Centre of Charity on the success of its application and thank the volunteers, donors and supporters of St Vincent de Paul for their efforts in helping others. They make a big difference in the lives of so many people.”
