SUPPORT FOR BUSINESSES IN WIDE BAY

April 6, 2020

Support is available to small and medium-sized businesses impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak through the Coalition Government’s business hotline.

Federal Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien said operation of the business.gov.au 13 28 46 call centre has been extended to seven days per week, and calls are now being answered between 7am to 11pm AEST.

“The COVID-19 outbreak is causing widespread uncertainty in the community and tough times for businesses but the Coalition Government wants to keep local businesses in business so they can keep people in jobs,” Mr O’Brien said.

“Local business people don’t need the added stress of trying to identify and work their way through the range of assistance that is available, on top of trying make a living for themselves and their staff.  The call centre can provide advice on the initiatives that can help businesses through the COVID-19 outbreak.”

A range of new assistance initiatives have been introduced by the Australian Government to help businesses including a boost to cash flow, increasing the instant asset write-off threshold, a business investment incentive and wage subsidies for apprentices and trainees.
