Maryborough RSL’s mural opening

October 8, 2019

Federal Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien will officially open the Maryborough RSL’s Memorial Garden murals, painted by local artist Robbyn Gergos.

The Australian Government’s Armistice Centenary Grants Program contributed $11,170 towards the murals.

“These beautifully painted collection of murals are a fitting tribute to our current and former serving personnel, and will add to the rich compilation of other murals that decorate Maryborough,” Mr O’Brien said.

“Robbyn has created poignant and reflective work in her mural masterpieces that inspire both remembrance and respect, and I encourage everyone to come along to see them.”

WELCOME TO WIDE BAY

In the spirit of Australia, I acknowledge all citizens who contribute to making our nation the greatest on earth.

I acknowledge our defence force personnel, past, present, and emerging, for their service to our nation, and particularly those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the defence of Australia.

I also acknowledge the Australian taxpayers who, through their hard work, pay for the infrastructure, health, education, and emergency services that keep our proud nation healthy, safe, and prosperous.
