Buying local is the best prescription for a healthy economy

March 13, 2020

Federal Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien is urging people to support local businesses and help keep Australians in jobs, as the Coalition Government rolls out its stimulus package.

“When times are tough, Australians can always be relied upon to help a mate – and the best way to do that right now is to buy local goods and services,” Mr O’Brien said.

“The Liberals and Nationals Government has targeted its stimulus package to protect jobs and small businesses, and the people who are receiving the stimulus can do their part to make it go further by spending locally.

“Whether you received a stimulus payment or not, it is now more important than ever to shop locally, buy local produce and choose Australian made.

“When you back local small businesses and Aussie farmers, it makes a big difference to our local economy, and it is the number one way you can help keep Wide Bay people in local jobs.

“Buying local goods and services is the best prescription for a healthy Wide Bay economy.”
