Restored Tait-Duke Community Cottage opens - 'The cottage the community built'

Federal Member for Wide Bay, Llew O’Brien today attended the opening of the Tait-Duke Community Cottage in Tewantin.

The restored cottage is now open for use by local organisations to deliver better services and provide more opportunities in the community,” Mr O’Brien said.

“It is great to see this historic Queenslander given a fresh makeover so the public can enjoy it for generations to come,” Mr O’Brien said.

“The Coalition Government invested $20,000 in this project as part of our Stronger Communities Programme. We are keen to support initiatives like this that get people job-ready and make our communities better places to live.

“Many of the trainees who participated in the project have gone on to secure further employment. It is great to see so many of them here today, equipped with new skills and experience that will serve them well in the future,” Mr O’Brien said.

The project was managed by the Noosa Council, United Synergies and the Rotary Club of Noosa Heads.
